Mindfulness is a trendy topic these days as we are noticing articles in more mainstream media outlets. That's a good thing. However, mindfulness is really just another intellectual concept until you fully engage and apply the skills into your daily life.
A mindfulness practice takes time to develop; it is an ongoing practice of disciplined and compassiate self-inquiry whose benefits and effects know no bounds. It is a life-long experiential activity, and truly embodies the word "practice" in that there is no identifyable end. Thus, as you begin your own adventure in mindfulness, you may notice the heart quality of patience as being an inevitable and imperative friend. Practices in mindfulness inherently involve being patiently present with as much discomfort as joy, peace, or beauty, and the capacity to engage your attention fully with all of these experiences equally, from a space of non-judgment and with goals of "letting go," is the foundational element that leads to the cumulative and deeply self-transformative effects you may come to know.
In this "News" section of my site, my intention is to share articles, recommended books, websites and apps that you may find useful to bring new insights into your own life and mindfulness practice.
I hope you enjoy this short animation that does a great job describing how a mindfulness practice can be a healthy way of living.
